Located on the south-eastern part of the island, at an altitude of 450 m it has a surface area of 45,11 Km 2. It is at a road distance of 40 Km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with a population of 2 641 individuals.

It limits with Güímar by the canyons of Las Campanitas, Archifira and Herques and towards the south, it is adjacent to Arico
